Suleman Annual Grant for Arts: Call for Artists

The Suleman Annual Grant for Art has been developed for young creative practitioners based in Pakistan. With the intention to express support for diverse artists who are curious and sensitive towards wider socio-political concerns that inform their research, materials and modes of communication, the basis of this initiative is to provide a unique opportunity to actualise an ambitious project which can span up to, and no longer than 9 months.

As we are increasingly aware of the lacuna of investment into art in Pakistan, the funds from this initiative are to keep inspiring innovative methods of practice and to encourage artists to produce work that is close to their heart which engages and addresses the need for courageous thought and discussions via design, art and sensorial methods. With hopes to widen spaces and opportunities for artistic representation, the grant does not have a thematic restriction or a requirement for specific mediums.

The SAGA Annual Grant is for PKR 500,000. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email for an interview. Currently, SAGA can only select one creative practitioner.

The successful candidate will be issued the Grant in tiers and/or milestone achievements.

The final project, in whichever form the artist chooses this to be – will be uploaded on the SAGA website. The artist will have up to 60 days after the project period ends to submit a grant closeout report.
