Dr. Adnan Madani is an artist, curator, writer and lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths College, UK. He completed his PhD in Visual Cultures from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2016. Prior to that he did his MA in Contemporary Art Theory, Goldsmiths, University of London, 2006 and a BFA from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi in 2001.
He is interested in contemporary subjectivities in relation to philosophies of globalization, religious/secular life and intercultural encounters.
His current art practice and research explores the relationship between iconoclasm in modern art and the destruction of historical objects and sites in contemporary war.
